Monthly Goals: August 2017

Having only recently got on a bike again for the first time in around 10 years, it’s going to be a while before I can reach the 100 mile daily average needed to cycle around the world. As such, I’m going to be setting myself monthly targets to help build up my stamina and overall fitness. To support this, I will also be organising a number of milestone events along the way to push myself further and raise money for charity at the same time.

With that out the way, my mileage goal for August is 200 miles and this works out to be the equivalent of cycling 50 miles a week or just under 6.5 miles a day. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t much at all – especially when Mark Beaumont is currently cycling 240 miles a day on average in attempt to cycle around the world in 80 days! – but it’s start!
